Frank Lampard looking to "move on" from Chelsea exit

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard believes that he and the club must "move on" after announcing that they will part ways this summer.

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has insisted that he must "move on" from his time at the club, having announced his imminent departure yesterday.

Lampard will end his 13-year spell at Stamford Bridge this summer having established himself as one of the greatest players in Chelsea's history, scoring a club-record 211 goals in 648 appearances.

The 35-year-old has been linked with a move to newly-formed MLS franchise New York City, but he is keen to focus on matters with England first as they prepare for this summer's World Cup in Brazil.

"It is very difficult after 13 years but you have to move on, I move on, the club moves on and it's as simple as that," he told Sky Sports News.

"I'm here now to concentrate on being with England. It was a relief to say it last night and now I personally, and the team, can focus on the game.

"It is something I will address more to Chelsea fans and Chelsea people at another time."

Lampard will captain England as he wins his 104th international cap in tomorrow's penultimate World Cup warm-up match against Ecuador.
