Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp believes that pre-season tours abroad could have an adverse effect on England's preparation for the World Cup next year.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp believes that pre-season tours abroad this summer will affect England's preparations for the World Cup next year.

All 20 Premier League clubs will be playing games outside of the United Kingdom as they prepare for the start of the new season.

However, Redknapp believes this extra exertion could have an adverse effect come the end of the campaign when many players will be bracing themselves for the World Cup in Brazil.

He wrote in his column in The Sun: "You have to admit that jetting all over the world with your squad is not great preparation for the World Cup next year, should England qualify.

"The last thing players need is to be dragged here, there and everywhere to show off the team's new shirts for overseas fans.

"Money rules now though and, with big clubs owned by foreigners there is no loyalty to the England team."

QPR begin their Championship campaign on August 3 against Sheffield Wednesday.
