Half-Time Report: Everton leading West Ham United

Everton are 1-0 up against West Ham United at the break, thanks to Kevin Mirallas's sixth-minute goal.

An early goal from Kevin Mirallas has given Everton a 1-0 lead against West Ham United at half time of their Premier League clash at Goodison Park.

David Moyes's side surged ahead in the sixth minute through Mirallas, who combined with Leighton Baines and Steven Pienaar before unleashing an unstoppable shot from 18 yards.

Two minutes later Everton could have doubled their advantage when Darron Gibson tried his luck from outside the West Ham box, but failed to keep his effort on target.

The Toffees continued to dominate proceedings at Goodison as the first half progressed, Victor Anichebe and Leon Osman both testing goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen and his defence.

West Ham got back into the game thereafter as Mohamed Diame and Kevin Nolan threatened to breach Tim Howard's citadel, before Everton defender Sylvain Distin headed Mirallas's corner just wide in the 38th minute.
