Seamus Coleman to miss Everton trip to Thailand

Everton manager Roberto Martinez confirms that Seamus Coleman is to sit out the team's upcoming trip to Thailand due to a hamstring strain.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Seamus Coleman will miss the team's upcoming trip to Thailand through injury.

The defender suffered a hamstring strain on Tuesday during the Toffees' pre-season draw with Tranmere Rovers.

Coleman will now miss Sunday's game against Leicester City in Bangkok in order to fully recover from the problem.

"He will miss the Thailand trip to give proper consideration to his injury, for proper treatment and to remove any chance of aggravating that feeling that he had," Martinez told the club's official website.

"We don't really know the extent of the injury yet but it is sometimes a little bit of a setback that comes with pre-season preparation and getting a lot of volume into the bodies. Hopefully it is going to be just a minor setback."

Meanwhile, midfielder Ross Barkley will join the squad in Thailand following a period of rest after the World Cup.
