Everton win delights departing David Moyes

David Moyes expresses his happiness as Everton win his final home match in charge of the team against West Ham United.

David Moyes has described himself as "delighted" after his Everton side recorded a 2-0 victory against West Ham United in what was his last game in charge of the team at Goodison Park this afternoon.

Having spent 11 years at the helm, Moyes will leave the club at the end of the season to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United.

"There's always a worry when you're joining another club, but Everton fans were magnificent for me today. David Unsworth scored my first goal at Goodison 11 years ago after about 25 seconds and I'm delighted I finished it off here with a win. I thank all the players who have worked with me," he told BBC Sport.

However, despite his impending departure, Moyes has insisted that he is keen for the Toffees to end the season on a high note away at Chelsea next week.

"Whoever comes in is going to have joy working with the current set of players. I've got another week and I'm going to make sure I'm at it with the players because we want a result at Chelsea," he added.

"They know what to expect. The victory was deserved. We're going to finish in a good league position and I'm happy with that."

Regardless of the result at Stamford Bridge, Everton will end the season in sixth place.
