Tim Howard backs Romelu Lukaku to find his best form

Everton keeper Tim Howard backs striker Romelu Lukaku to find his form in the near future following his goalscoring struggles at the start of the season.

Everton keeper Tim Howard is confident that striker Romelu Lukaku will rediscover his best form in the near future.

The 21-year-old has struggled at Goodison Park this season after making his loan move from Chelsea permanent in a £28m switch, netting just three goals in the Premier League this campaign.

Howard believes that playing at the World Cup may have hindered Lukaku's form, but feels that it is only a matter of time before the Belgian forward clicks into gear.

He told the club's official website: "Every team would like a guy like Rom who can lead the line and be counted on. Rom will get his goals and we know that. He is going to get better and better and he works hard for the team.

"It is hard when you play a long season and go into a World Cup, it is difficult then to play catch up and get your second wind and I think a lot of players who played in the World Cup are finding that.

"We have no worries about Rom. He has been brilliant since he has been here and he will get us a lot of goals."

Everton travel to Turf Moor to face Burnley in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
