Everton manager Roberto Martinez believes that defenders John Stones and Brendan Galloway share the same 'modern-day' qualities on the pitch.
Stones has established himself as a regular first-team player over the past 12 months, while 19-year-old Galloway made his full debut in the Toffees' 2-1 win over West Ham United in May.
"They are different players, but the similarities are that they are both good defenders with a lot of athleticism and you need that in the modern game," the Liverpool Echo quotes Martinez as saying.
"As different as they are, [both] share that modern way of defending where you are not too worried about being left in one versus one situations."
The Merseyside outfit finished 11th in the Premier League last season.
