Everton manager David Moyes believes that his side should have been awarded a goal during their 0-0 draw with Liverpool earlier today.

David Moyes has insisted that Everton should have been awarded a goal during the goalless Merseyside derby against Liverpool earlier today.

Sylvain Distin headed the ball past Jose Reina in the second half, but referee Michael Oliver disallowed the effort, citing a foul on the Liverpool keeper by Victor Anichebe.

The Toffees manager told Sky Sports News: "It was a goal. Their goalkeeper runs into our player so the goal should stand.

"I can understand if our player ran into their keeper, you can give a foul for that, but the goalie ran into him, so it was a goal.

"We picked up a point today. We had a really difficult run it, which everybody kept reminding me. We've got two games to go and we'll keep pushing to try and make Europe if we can."

The result leaves Everton sixth in the Premier League table, five points behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
