Everton are reportedly on the verge of bringing a successful end to their pursuit of a new right-back.
It appeared last weekend that the Toffees had secured the services of Sam Byram from Leeds United, only for the 22-year-old to make a late switch to West Ham United instead.
That forced Roberto Martinez to consider alternative options, one of which was Ajax's Ricardo van Rhijn, according to The Mirror.
The report adds that the Netherlands international may now make the switch to Goodison Park in a £2m deal.
Van Rhijn has spent his entire professional career with Ajax, whom he has helped to win three Eredivisie titles.
