Everton 'hoping to pay £27m for Gabriel Magalhaes'

Everton hope to tie up a €30m (£27m) deal for Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes, according to a report.

Everton are reportedly hoping to tie up a €30m (£27m) deal for Lille defender Gabriel Magalhaes.

The Toffees are said to be one of four clubs to have submitted a bid for the Brazilian, and it is thought that the Premier League club are at the head of the queue.

Lille have the centre-back on a contract until the summer of 2023, but according to Globo Esporte, Everton are hopeful that their €30m (£27m) offer for the South American will be accepted.

Magalhaes, who has previously been linked with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, played in all six of Lille's Champions League group-stage fixtures in the latter stages of 2019.

Two Serie A clubs and another unnamed English side are also thought to be interested in the left-footed centre-back.

This summer's transfer window could be put back or extended due to the coronavirus outbreak, which has caused havoc across the sporting world.
