Everton in £8m Gareth Barry deal?

Gareth Barry will complete a permanent move to Everton this summer, according to reports.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez is reportedly looking to secure midfielder Gareth Barry on a permanent basis, in a deal thought to be worth £8m.

Barry has impressed during his loan spell at Goodison Park and was believed to be catching the eye of Arsenal, but the Sunday People claims that the Toffees are prepared to offer him a £50,000-a-week, three-year contract.

It is said that while the England international is on more money at Manchester City, there might not be a better offer available to the ex-Aston Villa man and Martinez feels that Barry is a reasonable option in the centre of the pitch for the Blues.

Everton moved back ahead of Manchester United into sixth place in the Premier League on Saturday after Romelu Lukaku's late goal helped see off West Ham United.
