Roberto Martinez expects busy summer of transfers for Everton

Everton manager Roberto Martinez says that he is looking to significantly add to his squad in this summer's transfer window.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has said that he expects a busy summer in the transfer market at Goodison Park.

The Toffees look set to quality for a European place this season and Martinez admits that he is looking to significantly add to his squad in order to cope with the increased fixture list.

"It's not about improving - it's about increasing," Sky Sports quotes Martinez as saying. "When you're playing in Europe you need to have another six or seven and that's the reality and we will do that - it's not an issue.

"Every summer is busy. We signed 10 players in the previous two windows and that's what you expect from window to window.

"I never worry about losing players. It's the opposite - I get excited about bringing new players in. You need fresh blood."

Everton are currently fifth in the Premier League table and sit one point behind fourth-placed Arsenal, who occupy the final Champions League qualifying spot.
