Roma are reportedly poised to move for Everton defender John Heitinga.
The Italian side were first linked with the Dutch centre-back last month, although they stood back as he negotiated terms with West Ham United.
Heitinga, who has made just one substitute appearance in the Premier League this season, eventually rejected a switch to Upton Park, stating that he did not feel it was the right move for him.
According to talkSPORT, the Giallorossi are now preparing a formal bid for the 30-year-old after receiving a transfer request from Nicolas Burdisso.
The former Ajax youth player, whose contract at Goodison Park runs out in the summer, is thought to be a target for Stoke City and Norwich City.
