Everton forward Wayne Rooney is reported to have been in talks with MLS side DC United over a summer move.

Everton forward Wayne Rooney has reportedly been in talks with DC United over a summer move to the Major League Soccer side.

The 32-year-old is believed to be pining for a move from Goodison Park after struggling for regular first-team football under Sam Allardyce.

According to The Sun, Rooney - who has a year left on his Toffees contract - is seriously weighing up a switch to the MLS.

The report claims that talks between the former England captain and the Washington-based team have been stepped up in recent weeks, with the US transfer window opening on July 10.

Rooney joined Everton from Manchester United last summer and has scored 11 goals in all competitions this term.
