Vincenzo Montella "extremely happy" with Fiorentina progress

Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella believes that his side are stronger than last season but refuses to set them a target for the Serie A campaign.

Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella has admitted that he is reluctant to set targets for his improving side this season, while declaring himself "extremely happy" with their recent form.

La Viola have won their last three games in quick succession, scoring nine goals in a run that includes a notable 4-2 victorya over defending Serie A champions Juventus.

Montella believes that his side have more self-belief this campaign ahead of tomorrow night's clash with Scudetto contenders Napoli.

He told reporters: "I am extremely happy. With respect to last season I see a team that is more precise and convinced of its strength.

"We are scoring more than we were last season and we are adapting better to our opponents.

"I don't know where this will take us but what I do know is that we are growing and we have to continue on this path."

Fiorentina currently sit fifth in Serie A after losing just one of their first nine league games.
