PSV exhibited great powers of recovery to come from behind and claim an emphatic 5-2 triumph over FC Twente at the Philips Stadion on Saturday.
After falling behind to Michel Vlap's 13th-minute opener, two goals from Yorbe Vertessen either side of Eran Zahavi's equaliser put Roger Schmidt's men on course for all three points before Carlos Vinicius made sure of the result with a second-half double.
The Rood-Witten are currently second in the Eredivisie table, hot on the heels of Ajax who currently lead the way with a two-point advantage.
Sunday's visitors also played out a goalless stalemate versus Monaco in their Europa League clash on Thursday and will look to rediscover their touch in front of goal.
Fortuna Sittard were beaten for the first time in four league outings following a 4-3 defeat to newly-promoted Go Ahead Eagles on Sunday.
Sjors Ultee's men went into the interval with a two-goal cushion courtesy of goals from Mats Seuntjens and Ben Rienstra before second-half goals from Luuk Brouwers, Marc Cardona, Inigo Cordoba and Joris Kramer turned the game on its head.
The Fortunezen remain in the bottom three after a dire start to the new campaign where they have only managed to pick up nine points in 10 league games.
Having suffered defeat in each of the previous five meetings versus the visitors since 2008, Sunday's hosts are faced with another stern test this weekend.

Roel Janssen and Lisandro Semedo are Fortuna's only absentees for the game as they continue to struggle with knee and ankle injuries respectively.
PSV, on the other hand, have a host of several regular first-team players who are unavailable for Sunday's game.
Noni Madueke is yet to return from a thigh injury, while two-goal hero last time out Yorbe Vertessen suffered a rib injury in midweek.
Cody Gakpo (ankle), Richard Ledezma (knee) and Davy Propper (leg) are also not expected to play any part and so is Mario Gotze, who is ruled out through illness.
Fortuna Sittard possible starting lineup:
Van Osch; Ferati, Pito, Angha, Johansson; Rienstra, Tekie, Duarte; Seuntjens, Flemming, Hansson
PSV Eindhoven possible starting lineup:
Drommel; Max, Boscagli, Ramalho, Mwene; Sangare, Van Ginkel, Gutierrez; Vinicius, Zahavi, Bruma
We say: Fortuna Sittard 0-3 PSV Eindhoven
PSV have been extremely dominant in this fixture, and it is hard to see that changing this weekend. We are backing them to cruise to victory at the end of the 90 minutes, scoring plenty of goals en route.
