Fulham duo Matt Smith, Marcus Bettinelli suffer ligament damage

Fulham pair Matt Smith and Marcus Bettinelli are facing spells on the sidelines with knee ligament damage after colliding with each other against Hull City.

Fulham will be without both Matt Smith and Marcus Bettinelli for an extended period of time after the pair collided against Hull City in midweek.

The Championship club confirmed this afternoon that both have suffered damage to their medial cruciate ligaments.

Striker Smith is expected to be out for up to six weeks, while goalkeeper Bettinelli will be missing for longer as his injury is more "severe".

Cottagers boss Kit Symons also revealed that Fernando Amorebieta and Scott Parker are close to making their returns, while Jack Grimmer is out for two months.
