Hartlepool United striker Marlon Harewood jokes that he will never forgive Steven Gerrard for scoring a last-minute equaliser in the 2006 FA Cup final.
Harewood played for West Ham United at the time and appeared in the final against Liverpool eight years ago.
The Hammers led the game twice at 2-0 and then 3-2 with little time remaining, before the Liverpool talisman scored from 30 yards out to take the game to extra time.
Liverpool eventually went on to win the final on penalties, leaving Harewood and his teammates with runner-up medals.
"We were minutes away and then Steve G came along with a goal – I haven't forgiven him yet and never will!" Harewood jokingly told the Hartlepool Mail.
Harewood is now preparing to face Ryman Premier League side East Thurrock United in the first round of the FA Cup.
