Craig Thomson has been suspended from Hearts with immediate effect following the fallout from his sex offence conviction.
Earlier this month, Thomson was placed on the sex offenders’ register after pleading guilty to indecent behaviour towards two girls - aged 12 and 14 - over the internet.
The Tynecastle club had said that while they took the situation “very seriously”, the 20-year-old would remain on their roster.
However, flavoured water company MacB yesterday pulled their sponsorship, citing their “strong family values”.
“Hearts today announce that Craig Thomson is suspended with immediate effect,” a statement on Hearts’ website reads. “No further comment will be made by the club.”
