Scottish Championship roundup: Hearts win to maintain run

Sports Mole rounds up all of the action in the Scottish Championship as leaders Hearts maintain their unbeaten run with a 2-0 win over Alloa Athletic.

Hearts continued to push towards Scottish Championship glory by overcoming Alloa Athletic with a comfortable 2-0 victory this afternoon.

The league leaders went ahead through James Keatings after 16 minutes, before Callum Paterson cemented the three points with a second goal just over 10 minutes later.

At Ibrox, Rangers gave themselves something to smile about after a rather tough week, as an early goal from Fraser Aird helped them to a 2-0 victory over Livingston, who also had themselves to blame as Simon Mensing put into his own net.

Cowdenbeath managed to grab a vital three points to move above Alloa into eighth spot as they earned a 2-1 away win at Queen of the South, with Sean Higgins grabbing a last-gasp winner.

Finally, Hibernian ensured that they moved into third place with a dramatic 3-1 victory over hosting Raith Rovers, where goals from Jason Cummings, Liam Fontaine and Dominique Malonga earned Hibs a comeback win.
