Preview: Huddersfield Town vs. Watford

Sports Mole looks ahead to Saturday's Championship clash between Huddersfield Town and Watford.

Huddersfield Town manager Chris Powell has probably made one New Year's resolution, and that is to encourage his side to become more consistent in the Championship.

December summed up Huddersfield's form as Powell's team recorded two victories, suffered two losses and played out a draw, and they start 2015 in 18th spot.

As a result the Terriers are just five points above the relegation zone, but they remain three points behind some of the sides currently sitting in the top half of the table.

Watford make the trip to the John Smith's Stadium having won four of their previous five Championship games, and there is renewed hope that Slavisa Jokanovic's charges can produce a strong promotion bid this season.

Just like Huddersfield, Watford started the year by being knocked out of the FA Cup with a 3-0 loss to Chelsea, but that result is unlikely to have had a big impact on the squad's confidence.

Jokanovic could make changes to the side that lost at Stamford Bridge, with Almen Abdi and Matej Vydra set to return to the starting lineup.

Huddersfield will be without Jonathan Hogg due to suspension, but there are no new injury concerns for Powell to worry about ahead of their return to action.

Huddersfield:

Form in Championship: LWLLDW
Form in all competitions: WLLDWL

Possible starting lineup: Smithies, Smith, Hudson, Gerrard, Robinson, Hammill, Coady, Scannell, Bunn, Vaughan, Wells

Watford:

Form in Championship: LWWWLW
Form in all competitions: WWWLWL

Possible starting lineup: Bond; Hoban, Cathcart, Angella; Paredes, Munari, Tozser, Abdi, Pudil, Vydra, Deeney

Sports Mole says: 1-2
