Hull City manager Steve Bruce brands Huddersfield Town forward Alan Lee a "cheat" and reveals that he will contest the red card shown to son Alex Bruce.

Hull City manager Steve Bruce has revealed that he will contest the red card shown to his son following the Tigers' 2-0 win over Huddersfield Town.

Alex Bruce was sent off by referee Howard Webb after the final whistle at the KC Stadium for a shove on Alan Lee.

Bruce senior was disgusted with the role that Lee played in the incident and has branded the Irish forward a cheat.

He said: "We are appealing his red, you can understand why. I knew there must have been something in it for him to react like that.

"I thought it was cowardly by Alan Lee, I thought more of him, I have had a pint of Guinness with him, I have played his guitar and I thought more of him.

"Cheat is the right word for him, I don't use that lightly but that's the right word for him. He's 15-and-a-half stone and he went down like that."

Alex Bruce has now been sent off six times during his career.
