Hull City's Steve Bruce confident of survival

Hull City manager Steve Bruce claims that his side have "an outstanding chance" of Premier League survival this season.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce is confident that his side can avoid relegation from the Premier League this season.

The Tigers slipped to their second defeat on Saturday, losing 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

However, despite the setback, Bruce believes that his side's performances show that they have "an outstanding chance" of surviving come the end of the season.

"We've had three games, we've played 70 minutes at Norwich with 10 men, went to Chelsea and played in the second half when we got used to playing against the big boys," Bruce told reporters.

"We need now a little bit of luck in terms of the window shutting and obviously staying injury free and suspension free. We haven't got the biggest of squads. But if we sat injury free then we've got a an outstanding chance.

"You bring in the likes of Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore and suddenly the quality of your team rises. We're delighted we've got them. A lot's been said about footballers for all the wrong reasons but those have just wanted to go and play."

Hull face fellow promoted side Cardiff City in their next Premier League encounter.
