Hull City boss Steve Bruce rues costly mistakes in Newcastle United defeat

Hull City boss Steve Bruce slams his side's error-strewn second-half performance in their 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United at the KC Stadium.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce has admitted that his side were well beaten by Newcastle United in their Premier League clash on Saturday.

The Tigers fell to their third defeat in a row in the Premier League as goals from Remy Cabella, Sammy Ameobi and Yoan Gouffran condemned them to defeat at the KC Stadium.

Bruce has conceded that his team made far too many mistakes in the second half to have a realistic chance of taking anything from the match.

He told the club's official website: "If you make mistakes at this level, which we did, you will be punished. The first goal, Andy [Robertson] has tried to pass the ball from his own box when he needed to clear his lines, and the second goal was a catalogue of errors just after half time.

"Unfortunately this [playing poorly in the second half] has crept into us. But the one thing we have to eradicate to give us a platform to build from is the individual mistakes. It can't keep happening.

"We were well beaten and we have to find a solution. The three goals we gave away in this game were awful. Newcastle didn't have to do anything for them."

Hull are 18th in the Premier League following their defeat to the Magpies, one point adrift of safety.
