Half-Time Report: Ipswich Town leading Nottingham Forest

Daryl Murphy finds the net to give Ipswich Town a 1-0 half-time lead away to Nottingham Forest in this afternoon's Championship clash at the City Ground.

A Daryl Murphy goal has given Ipswich Town a 1-0 half-time lead away to Nottingham Forest in this afternoon's Championship clash at the City Ground.

The hosts almost took the lead during the opening 10 minutes, but Matty Fryatt's header from Michail Antonio's cross came back off the post.

Ipswich were soon causing Forest problems at the other end of the pitch, and they came close when Murphy fired over after being put through by Connor Sammon.

However, Murphy made no mistake on 19 minutes as he created himself some space inside the penalty area before shooting low into the corner of the net.

Town could have bagged themselves a second goal before the break, only for Michael Mancienne to deny Sammon with a superb last-ditch tackle.
