Ipswich Town manager Paul Jewell admits that he doesn't know if he can turn around the club's fortunes and says he is seriously considering his future.

Ipswich Town manager Paul Jewell has revealed that he doesn't know if he can turn around the club's fortunes and is seriously thinking about his future there.

The Tractor Boys sank to a late defeat at Hull City this afternoon, meaning that they have only won one of their last 17 outings and have squandered 1-0 leads in their last four games.

"On the balance of play we didn't deserve to win the match," said Jewell. "In the first half we were woeful, we scored with our first shot.

"We improved slightly in the second half but when you allow as many crosses as we did into our box you're asking for trouble. They deserved to win."

A sixth defeat of the season for Ipswich sees them remain 23rd, four points adrift of safety.

When asked if he think that he can turn around the Blues' fortunes, Jewell said: "I don't know. I'm passionate about my job but the way I'm feeling now I need to think seriously about it. The most important thing is Ipswich Town.

"We've had 11 games, we've got seven points. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to know that's relegation form.

"I will speak with people close to me and with Marcus (Evans, the Ipswich owner). I don't want to have to say the same things week in, week out."

The Tractor Boys now have two home games in a week as Derby County visit on Tuesday evening before Sheffield Wednesday make the trip South to Suffolk in a week's time.
