Mick McCarthy: 'We deserved to win'

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy believes that his side "deserved" their win against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy has said that his side "deserved" their win against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

David McGoldrick's second-half penalty gave Ipswich all three points in their Championship clash.

McCarthy told reporters: "They (the players) put a shift in for me, for the club, and for each other, every single week.

"Bolton didn't give us any space in behind and it was a scrappy old game. I was glad to get the first half out the way so I could speak to them.

"What was nice is that I got a response. We've deserved to win I think in the end."

Next up for Ipswich is a trip to Barnsley.
