Mick McCarthy: 'I'll do it my way'

Ipswich Town manager Mick McCarthy insists that he will not change his selection policy to please the supporters.

Mick McCarthy has told Ipswich Town supporters that the team will play the way that he wants them to.

Despite having guided the Tractor Boys away from the relegation zone since he took over from Paul Jewell earlier this season, a section of Ipswich fans have criticised McCarthy for opting not to start youngsters like Luke Hyam and Josh Carson on a regular basis.

However, McCarthy has informed his critics that he has no plans to alter his selection policy.

"I'm not bothered what [the fans] think, because I'm being paid to be the manager," McCarthy told the East Anglian Daily Times. "I want them to come and watch it and enjoy it, but they'll have to enjoy it the way I want it to be done.

"I like the fact that people are getting excited, but I'm not going to start getting carried away that's for sure."

McCarthy's side are currently 20th in the Championship.
