Leicester City came from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Ipswich Town on Monday.

Both sides had chances in the opening 10 minutes of play, with Jason Scotland coming close with an effort after six minutes, before David Nugent fired wide for the away side after seven minutes.

Leicester stopper Kasper Schmeichel produced a fine save to deny Grant Leadbitter after 15 minutes, before Foxes striker Jermaine Beckford cleared the bar with an effort just before the 20-minute mark in the match.

Nugent came close to opening the scoring 10 minutes before the break, but Arran Lee-Barrett produced a smart save to turn the ball wide.

Ipswich took the lead after 43 minutes when Scotland converted from close range, but Ben Marshall dispatched a free kick for Leicester just before the break to leave the score at 1-1 at the interval.

Leadbitter came close to moving Ipswich into the lead after 53 minutes, but it was the away side who moved into the lead after 57 minutes when Nugent headed home from close range.

Beckford and Leadbitter came close for either side in the latter stages, but it remained 2-1 with Leicester securing all the points.

The result leaves Leicester ninth in the table, while Ipswich sit 15th.
