Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has admitted that Bayern Munich fully deserved their victory during their Champions League clash on Tuesday.

Goals from David Alaba and Thomas Muller put the German's in control of the tie to give them a 2-0 win at the Allianz Arena in the first leg of their quarter-final meeting.

The Italian admits that the Serie A champions could have lost by a larger margin.

"We knew we had to play against a big team," Buffon told Sky Sport Italia.

"Clearly we had certainty but tonight there are no complaints about the match. Bayern deserved the win. They had also many other chances to give us pain."

The return leg takes place next Wednesday.
