Juventus centre-back Giorgio Chiellini could miss the next six months of the season after suffering a serious knee injury, according to a report.

Juventus could reportedly be without the services of Giorgio Chiellini for the next six months after it was confirmed that the centre-back had suffered a serious knee injury in training.

The Italian champions revealed on Friday that the 35-year-old had torn his anterior cruciate ligament, with surgery being required to fix the problem.

According to the Daily Mail, Chiellini, who has made over 500 appearances for the Turin giants in all competitions during a glittering career, could miss the next six months of the campaign.

The Italy international scored the only goal of the match as Juve started their 2019-20 Serie A campaign with a 1-0 victory over Parma last weekend.

After the match, summer arrival Matthijs de Ligt admitted that he was surprised to be left out of the starting XI, although the Netherlands international is now in line to face Napoli on Saturday night.
