Leeds United teenager Lewis Cook picks up injury on England duty

Leeds United midfielder Lewis Cook could be set for a spell on the sidelines after returning from international duty with an ankle injury.

Midfielder Lewis Cook has withdrawn from the England Under-19 squad to face France this evening and returned to club Leeds United to be assessed.

The 18-year-old picked up an ankle injury, which could be ligament damage, during Saturday's Under-19 match against Afghanistan.

He is now a doubt for the upcoming Easter weekend double-header against Blackburn Rovers and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Cook is enjoying a breakout campaign with Leeds, this season having appeared in all but two of their Championship games so far.
