Half-Time Report: Doncaster Rovers holding 10-man Leeds United to draw

Doncaster Rovers and 10-man Leeds United are playing out a 1-1 draw in their League Cup first-round clash at the Keepmoat Stadium.

Doncaster Rovers are holding 10-man Leeds United to a 1-1 draw in their League Cup first-round clash at the Keepmoat Stadium.

The visitors looked bright from the off, forcing their opponents back and winning a handful of corners.

Rovers, however, countered with a Harry Forrester free kick to the back post that Leeds skipper Liam Cooper did well to clear.

Uwe Rosler's charges managed to turn their solid start into something more fruitful when, on the quarter-hour mark, Mirco Antenucci cut inside from the left and forced a save from Thorsten Stuckmann.

The ball then rebounded into the path of Lewis Cook, who was on hand to tap it into an empty net for his first goal for the club.

Donny, however, were given the chance to equalise after Scott Wootton had bundled Cedric Evina over in the area, prompting the referee to award the hosts a penalty.

Andy Williams stepped up to the spot and, despite Ross Turnbull going the right way, couldn't quite stop the shot squirming in.

Leeds made things harder for themselves still when, on 38 minutes, Cook overran the ball and went in two-footed on defender Aaron Taylor-Sinclair to earn himself a straight red card.
