Neil Redfearn pleased with Massimo Cellino support

Neil Redfearn says that he will do his best after being placed in caretaker charge of Leeds United by owner Massimo Cellino.

Leeds United caretaker manager Neil Redfearn has stated that he will do his best in the role until a permanent manager is appointed.

The 49-year-old was placed in temporary charge by owner Massimo Cellino after the sacking of Dave Hockaday last month.

Redfearn has said that he has a great deal of respect for Cellino, who has divided opinion since arriving at Elland Road earlier this year.

"I speak to Massimo," Redfearn told BBC Radio Leeds. "We talk about everything. He talks about players and systems and teams, who is doing well, who is injured and who is coming back.

"He is a knowledgeable guy and he is a really enthusiastic guy. He loves his football. He wants to do well for the club and I want to help him.

"What he has achieved at Cagliari is some achievement in that type of football and that type of environment. He knows about players and knows about getting players in – we have to go respect that."

Leeds beat Bolton Wanderers 1-0 in Redfearn's first match in charge last Saturday.
