Uwe Rosler denies Massimo Cellino interference

Leeds United boss Uwe Rosler insists that he has a good relationship with owner Massimo Cellino.

Leeds United manager Uwe Rosler has insisted that he has a good relationship with the club's controversial chairman Massimo Cellino, saying that the Italian has not interfered with his team selection during his time at the club.

Rosler is the fifth manager to take charge of the Championship outfit since the outspoken Cellino took control in April 2014, with Brian McDermott, Dave Hockaday, Neil Redfearn and Darko Milanic all having been sacked in that time.

However, despite the chairman's reputation for interfering in the manager's duties, Rosler, who took over the reins at Elland Road in July, says that team selection has been left entirely up to him so far during his tenure.

"It is fascinating working with him," Rosler told Sky Sports News. "It is a big learning curve for me, though. He is very knowledgeable and has a strong football opinion.

"It is very important for me to manage outputs, to create a relationship where we exchange opinions, but I only took the job under the reassurance that I would be picking the team, the tactics and have an influence over who is going in and out.

"He has never tried to interfere, from day one we had an open relationship. We have discussions on how we can improve our football club, and I value his opinion. He respects mine, too."

Leeds currently sit 11th in the Championship table after losing just one of their opening eight games ahead of a trip to Middlesbrough on Sunday.
