Leeds United head race to sign Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Forshaw?

Leeds United reportedly move ahead of Cardiff City in the race to sign Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Forshaw.

Midfielder Adam Forshaw has reportedly indicated that he would like to join Leeds United if he leaves Middlesbrough during the January transfer window.

Earlier this month, it was claimed that Forshaw was one of a number of players who could be allowed to depart the Riverside Stadium, with Tony Pulis looking to trim his squad.

A number of clubs were quickly linked with the 26-year-old but according to The Sun, Leeds are in the driving seat to secure his services before the end of the month.

Forshaw is not keen on moving a significant distance away from the North-East, which rules out a switch to the likes of Cardiff City and Aston Villa.

With 66 miles separating Middlesbrough and Leeds, the Yorkshire giants are favourites to sign the player if the two clubs can agree a fee.

Forshaw has made 103 appearances for Boro since the start of 2015, but he is yet to feature under Pulis.
