Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson slams 'bleating' Saido Berahino

Leicester City boss Nigel Pearson hits out at West Bromwich Albion's Saido Berahino for 'bleating' about a challenge with Foxes defender Marcin Wasilewski.

Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has hit out at West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino for 'bleating' about a challenge with Foxes defender Marcin Wasilewski.

Berahino said after Albion's 1-0 victory at the King Power Stadium on Saturday that he was elbowed by Wasilewski, which was not spotted by referee Stuart Atwell.

Reports have suggested that the FA will now review footage of the clash, but Pearson has claimed that it was good defending from his player.

"Players should keep their mouth shut and perform on the pitch, that's what they are paid for. It was really good defending. If they want punishment then I'm disappointed with their reaction," Clubcall.com quotes Pearson as saying.

"Centre-backs get their arms up, it was fine. He's not gone to elbow him. It's called the clothes line. If I have a player who wants to run across me I'm going to put my arm up.

"If he runs into it it's his own tough luck. I'm not interested in players who are moaning after games. I think it is poor when players bleat after games, leave it to their own managers."

The defeat is Leicester's fourth in their last five league outings.
