Leicester City boss Claude Puel suggests that he does not take any extra satisfaction from recording a 4-1 win over former club Southampton.

Leicester City boss Claude Puel has suggested that he is focusing on the development of his Foxes side rather than taking satisfaction from defeating former club Southampton.

At the end of last season, Saints parted company with Puel after just a year in charge and the Frenchman was frequently criticised for the club's lack of goals.

On Wednesday night, Puel guided Leicester to a 4-1 triumph at St Mary's, but the experienced manager has insisted that there was no extra motivation to gain any kind of revenge on his former employers.

The 56-year-old is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: "Again, this is a feeling for other people, I'm just giving my players an opportunity to play in a style against opponents with quality.

"We try to play on the floor, but of course we can make more progress and we need to continue this work and just focus and concentrate on our own play, and hopefully we can continue with good results for the future.

"Of course, it's a good thing, to win away and with quality in the game against a good team, and to start this game with fantastic intensity was good."

Puel has now recorded 16 points from his first eight matches in charge of the East Midlands outfit.
