Leicester City sack manager Nigel Pearson

Leicester City announce that they have sacked manager Nigel Pearson because of "fundamental differences in perspective".

Leicester City this evening sacked manager Nigel Pearson.

In a statement on their website, the club said that their were "fundamental differences in perspective" between Pearson and the board of directors and that the working relationship "is no longer viable".

Pearson, 51, leaves the Foxes after three-and-a-half years in his second spell in charge.

He led Leicester to seven wins in their last nine Premier League games and a 14th-placed finish in 2014-15 after winning the Championship the previous season.

Craig Shakespeare and Steve Walsh will be in charge of the first team while the Foxes search for a new manager.
