Paul Gallagher makes Preston North End return

Leicester City striker Paul Gallagher returns to former club Preston North End on a season-long loan deal.

Preston North End have signed Leicester City striker Paul Gallagher on a season-long loan deal.

Gallagher returns to Deepdale after spending a similar spell at the League One club last season, and manager Simon Grayson has admitted that he is grateful to the Premier League outfit for allowing the Scot to rejoin them for another 12 months.

The 44-year-old told the club's official website: "He made it very clear to us that he wanted to come back and after negotiations with Leicester City, it is a done deal for the season.

"We are grateful to Leicester for letting him come here."

Gallagher netted 10 goals in 35 appearances last season as Preston missed out on promotion to the Championship after losing in the playoff semi-finals.
