Leicester City striker Islam Slimani is reportedly keen to leave the club when the January transfer window opens.

The 29-year-old moved to the King Power in August 2016 for a club-record £28m fee following the Foxes' unprecedented Premier League title triumph but struggled to nail down a regular place in the side, featuring just 23 times in his debut season.

Slimani has added just five appearances to that tally so far this term and, according to L'Expression, he is now keen to move on to pastures new in the winter window.

The publication says that new Leicester boss Claude Puel is planning to run the rule over Slimani in the coming weeks before making a decision on his future - although it is believed that the side would only sanction a loan exit for the remainder of the season.

French side Rennes - currently 10th in Ligue 1 - and Premier League strugglers Crystal Palace are among the sides thought to be interested in his services.
