Sporting Lisbon have reportedly suggested that they are willing to re-sign Islam Slimani from Leicester City.
In 2016, the Foxes brought in Slimani from Sporting after qualifying for the Champions League, but the move has not proved to be a success with just eight goals coming in 35 outings in the Premier League.
The 30-year-old also spent the second half of the last campaign on loan at Newcastle United and does not feature in the plans of manager Claude Puel.
According to The Sun, that has resulted in Sporting president Jose de Sousa Cintra indicating that he would like to offer Slimani the chance to return to the Portuguese giants, providing that the player takes a wage cut.
Leicester will not be able to recoup the £29m that they paid two years ago, but may be open to reaching a compromise in order to get Slimani off the wage bill.
