Leicester City defender Marcin Wasilewski has signed an extension to his contract at the King Power Stadium, keeping him at the Foxes until 2017.
The veteran centre-back has made 70 appearances for Leicester since signing from Anderlecht in 2013 but his position at the club seemed in doubt after playing just four times in the top flight last season.
However, the Premier League champions have announced that the 36-year-old will remain in the East Midlands for the next 12 months after he penned a new deal.
Manager Claudio Ranieri was able to keep the same backline for the majority of their league fixtures last season but with Leicester facing more games next season, securing the services of Wasilewski is the Italian's latest move to try to ensure that the club can compete in several competitions from August.
