Saturday's Nations League predictions including Poland vs. Portugal

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Nations League fixtures, including Poland vs. Portugal.

Lithuania vs. Kosovo (Saturday, 2.00pm)

Lithuania welcome Kosovo to Darius and Girenas Stadium in Kaunas for a UEFA Nations League encounter on Saturday afternoon.

While the hosts sit rock bottom in League C Group 2 without a single point after two matches, the visitors are three points better off in second place.

We say: Lithuania 0-2 Kosovo

Both nations will view this fixture as a must-win game if they are to mount a serious challenge for League C promotion. Kosovo may be without their top scorer Muriqi, but they should still have enough quality in the final third to get the better of Lithuania.

Croatia vs. Scotland (Saturday, 5.00pm)

Seeking an end to their long winless streak, Scotland face a tough trip to Zagreb on Saturday, when they tackle UEFA Nations League rivals Croatia.

Steve Clarke's side have lost both of their League A Group 1 matches so far, while their hosts have three points on the board and are still eyeing a place in the knockout phase.

We say: Croatia 2-0 Scotland

Weighed down by declining confidence and numerous injuries, Scotland have been a shadow of their former selves in recent months, meaning Croatia should continue a fine home record.

Besides several other issues, the Scots simply cannot keep the back door shut, so there can only be one outcome on Saturday evening.

Bulgaria vs. Luxembourg (Saturday, 5.00pm)

Chasing automatic promotion from League C Group 3, Bulgaria host Luxembourg in the UEFA Nations League on Saturday evening.

The home side are level on points with Belarus at the top of the table, while their visitors are yet to pick up a point.

We say: Bulgaria 1-0 Luxembourg

Bulgaria could keep their positive run going this weekend, as Luxembourg tend to boss possession without fully punishing their opponents.

Furthermore, the visitors have not only kept just one clean sheet in 12 matches, but they have also lost all four away games this year.

Poland vs. Portugal (Saturday, 7.45pm)

Following back-to-back UEFA Nations League wins last month, Portugal are setting the pace in League A Group 1, and they will aim to continue in that vein when visiting Poland on Saturday.

The Selecao turned to their talisman in both games in September, when Cristiano Ronaldo reached his latest career landmark, leaving them three points clear of their hosts before heading to Warsaw.

We say: Poland 1-2 Portugal

While Portugal may not be defensively sound, they pose a threat from several angles when going forward and are more than capable of outscoring their hosts.

Despite bringing through some new talent of late, Poland are also vulnerable at the back and will not be able to resist Ronaldo and co this weekend.

Serbia vs. Switzerland (Saturday, 7.45pm)

Serbia and Switzerland resume their UEFA Nations League campaigns when they square off at the Dubocica Stadium in Leskovac on Friday night.

Both nations have made winless starts in League A Group 4 and are already playing catch-up in the race to secure top spot ahead of current leaders Denmark.

We say: Serbia 0-1 Switzerland

Both nations have lacked a cutting edge in the final third in recent international matches, particularly Serbia, and a low-scoring affair could be on the cards this weekend.

Switzerland have got the better of Serbia in their previous two meetings and we feel that they may just have the edge once again, claiming a narrow victory to climb off the foot of the group.

Spain vs. Denmark (Saturday, 7.45pm)

UEFA Nations League holders Spain will endeavour to knock Denmark off the top of League A Group 4 when they do battle at Estadio Nueva Condomina on Saturday night.

While the Danes have picked up a maximum six point from their opening two games, La Roja sit two points further back in second place.

We say: Spain 3-1 Denmark

Denmark have made a positive start under caretaker boss Knudsen, but their mettle is sure to be tested away against a Spain outfit who still boast plenty of strength in depth, despite the absence of some key players through injury.

Indeed, La Roja will be regarded as favourites to come out on top in Saturday's contest and we expect the hosts to outscore their opponents en route to claiming the three points they need to leapfrog the Danes to the top of the group.

Cyprus vs. Romania (Saturday, 7.45pm)

Seeking to win their third successive UEFA Nations League match, Romania travel to Larnaca to face Cyprus at the AEK Arena on Saturday night.

While the visitors sit top of League C Group 2 with a maximum six point from their opening two games, the hosts are three points further back in third spot.

We say: Cyprus 0-2 Romania

Romania have made an impressive start to life under Lucescu, albeit against opposition they were expected to beat, and they will be regarded as favourites to come out on top once again this weekend.

Cyprus have struggled defensively for some time, keeping just two clean sheets in their last 19 international matches, and it is difficult to envisage the hosts keeping the Tricolour quiet in front of goal on this occasion.

Belarus vs. N. Ireland (Saturday, 7.45pm)

Meeting behind closed doors on Saturday evening, Northern Ireland and Belarus resume their UEFA Nations League campaigns, separated by just one point in League C Group 3.

The teams convene at ZTE Arena in Zalaegerszeg, Hungary - where no fans will be present due to UEFA restrictions - with both vying for a top-two finish next month.

We say: Belarus 0-0 Northern Ireland

As Northern Ireland struggle to score goals and Belarus have kept the back door firmly shut during this Nations League campaign, a goalless draw could result when they meet in Hungary.

Neither would be fully satisfied, but one point apiece keeps both teams in the hunt for promotion.
