Henderson pleased with win at Hoffenheim
Jordan Henderson is pleased with his side's 2-1 victory against Hoffenheim in their Champions League playoff first leg, but bemoans conceding a late goal.

Jordan Henderson has praised Liverpool's 2-1 win against a "very strong" Hoffenheim side in their Champions League playoff first leg, but bemoaned conceding a late goal.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's free kick and James Milner's deflected finish earned Jurgen Klopp's side a hard-fought victory in Germany, but Mark Uth halved the deficit with three minutes to go.

Earlier on, Simon Mignolet had prevented Hoffenheim from taking the lead with a smart save to push away Andrej Kramaric's penalty kick after Dejan Lovren had felled Serge Gnabry in the box.

Henderson told BT Sport after Tuesday's encounter: "We're disappointed with the goal we conceded but overall we have to be pleased with the result and how we played at times, we looked dangerous on the attack.

"We knew this would be a tough game, Hoffenheim are a very strong team. Si made a great save from the penalty but then we grew in confidence."

The second leg of the tie takes place at Anfield next Wednesday, as Liverpool hope to seal a return to the Champions League group stages for the first time since 2014.
