Mohamed Salah responds to comments made by Sergio Ramos, who suggested that the Liverpool ace could have continued playing with an injured shoulder against Real Madrid.

Mohamed Salah has attempted to laugh off claims from Sergio Ramos that he could have played on in Liverpool's Champions League final meeting with Real Madrid.

The Egyptian forward left the field in tears during the first half of his side's 3-1 loss in Kiev last month after damaging his shoulder in a collision with Ramos.

Speaking earlier this week, the Madrid centre-back suggested that Salah could have played the full 90 minutes had he been given an injection to ease the pain.

Ramos also said that Salah had told him he was 'okay' in a text exchange shortly after the final, but the Premier League's Golden Boot winner for 2017-18 has denied these claims.

"It's funny..." he told Marca. "An injection? My comment is that it's always okay when the one who made you cry first, then makes you laugh.

"Maybe he could also tell me if I'm going to be ready for the World Cup? He sent me a message, but I never told him it was 'okay.'"

Salah, replaced in the 30th minute of the showpiece final, registered 43 goals in all competitions last season.
