Simon Mignolet: 'Winning is best preparation for the Europa League final'

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has claimed that winning games provides the "best preparation" for the Europa League final.

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has claimed that winning their final two Premier League games is the "best preparation" for next week's Europa League final.

The Reds will face Chelsea on Wednesday in their final Premier League game of the season at Anfield before taking on West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns four days later.

Jurgen Klopp's men booked a place in the European final after sealing a 3-1 aggregate win over Villarreal last Thursday.

Liverpool grabbed a 2-0 victory over Watford on Sunday, and Mignolet is hopeful that the team can continue their winning streak.

"I think the only way we can focus is by putting good performances in - that can only be good for the confidence," Mignolet told the club's official website. "We've still got two games before [the final] in the Premier League and you always want to win those.

"Going into the final you want to [have] the best feeling and that's why putting in good performances like [against Watford is important]. Hopefully we can do that against West Brom and Chelsea as well and that will be the best preparation for the final."

Liverpool will face Sevilla in the final on May 18 in Basel.
