Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah's record vs. West Ham United

Ahead of Liverpool's Premier League clash with West Ham United on Monday night, Sports Mole looks at Mohamed Salah's formidable record against the Hammers.

Liverpool take on West Ham United on Monday night knowing that they can ill-afford many more slip-ups in the Premier League title race.

The Reds were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Leicester City on Wednesday, but still saw their lead at the top grow to five points after Manchester City were beaten by Newcastle United 24 hours earlier.

That advantage could be cut back down to two points by the time they kick off at the London Stadium, though, and it will be down to top-scorer Mohamed Salah and co to ensure that they remain at arm's length of their closest challengers.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the Egyptian has fared against the Hammers in the past.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, Salah has a formidable record against the Hammers with four goals and one assist in just three previous meetings.

Having not been selected in the squad either time Chelsea faced West Ham during his stint at Stamford Bridge, the Egyptian attacker made his first appearance against them at the London Stadium last season.

Salah netted the first and last goals in a 4-1 win for Liverpool on that occasion, and then did almost as well in the return fixture with a goal and an assist as the Reds once again hit four.

Indeed, that has been something of a trend for Liverpool in this fixture recently; the reverse meeting on the opening day of this season once again saw Jurgen Klopp's side run out 4-0 winners, and once again Salah was on the scoresheet.
