Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho to miss another two weeks

Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho is to miss "another couple of weeks" before he is back to full fitness.

Liverpool have confirmed that it will be "another couple of weeks" before defender Mamadou Sakho is back to full fitness.

The 24-year-old French international has been out of action for over a month after picking up a thigh injury during the team's win over Middlesbrough in the League Cup.

"It will be another couple of weeks for Mamadou and then hopefully he'll be back. As soon as he's fit and raring to go, he's available," assistant coach Colin Pascoe told the club's official website.

Liverpool return to action on Tuesday night when they entertain Swansea City in the fourth round of the League Cup.
