Thiago 'fit to return for Liverpool after international break'

Liverpool are reportedly set to welcome Thiago Alcantara back to the fold from a knee injury after this month's international break.

Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara will reportedly be ready to make his return to the pitch after the November international break.

The former Bayern Munich man has been sidelined for the last month with a knee problem he sustained in the Merseyside derby, and Thiago's playing time this season has also been hampered by a positive coronavirus test.

However, The Mirror reports that Thiago returned to full training before Liverpool's showdown with Manchester City, but the Premier League champions decided against thrusting the midfielder straight back into action.

The international break provides the 29-year-old with another two weeks to improve his match fitness, though, and Thiago should be ready to play when Leicester City make the journey to Anfield on November 21.

The Spain international has only made Jurgen Klopp's starting lineup once since his arrival, with Thiago also coming off the bench in Liverpool's win at Chelsea back in September.

On the other hand, Reds right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is set for four weeks on the treatment table after suffering a calf injury in the draw with Man City at the weekend.
